BEAR Alpha Maps: Full Rotation and Mastery List

BEAR Alpha maps are the rotating arena environments where survivors solve team puzzles and evade the killer bear to earn round rewards. Each base map tracks individual player progress up to 500 XP to award an exclusive character skin upon completion.

How Does Map Mastery Work in BEAR Alpha?

Map mastery is an account progression system that tracks individual map experience up to 500 XP to reward players with dedicated cosmetic skins. Introduced in the January 23 Quality of Life update, the mechanic assigns XP to whichever arena a player finishes. Completing in-round puzzles, securing survivor victories, eliminating players as Bear, or staying alive until the round timer expires all contribute points toward the tally for that specific location. Even minimal participation awards at least 1 point upon round conclusion, while high-kill rounds as Bear on spotlighted arenas grant up to 32 XP.

The map spotlight system rotates daily, choosing eight random maps that appear more frequently in lobby voting and offer higher XP yields per match. Finishing all 500 required points on any map grants an exclusive skin, while completing the mastery track across the 26 core maps unlocks the Golden Bucket Head cosmetic. Newer expansions also receive their own progression paths, such as the 500 XP track featured on unwelcome station.

Map SelectionBest ScenarioStrategic Trade-Off
Cheese FactoryFast puzzle progression with high hiding spotsHigh Bear visibility around the central factory floor
Sewage DomainFocused sewer objectives during active spotlight daysNarrow underground corridors that limit escape routes
Abandoned SchoolMaximum XP potential through six puzzle interactionsBear patrols intersect frequently through central hallways
CyanotypeConsistent objective loops with low player competitionBear spawn points sit very close to survivor start zones

Which Maps Appear in the Base Game Rotation?

Base game maps are the official survival arenas voted on by players in the lobby before each round begins. According to the Roblox BEAR Wiki maps directory, the game organizes its levels across multiple historical eras, with 26 primary arenas comprising the standard mastery pool.

  • Sewage Domain: An underground facility featuring sewer tunnels and initial puzzle rooms, rewarding the Pipe Bug skin.
  • Haunted Mansion: A classic multi-story arena based on Shedletsky's 2006 creation, containing rooftop access and wire tasks that grant the Cauldron Monster skin. Players can learn more about its pathways on the haunted mansion page.
  • Cheese Factory: An industrial environment featuring upper-floor window drop-downs and cheese altars, awarding the Cheddar Disciple skin.
  • Anemoia: A linear, atmospheric level inspired by Junji Ito that awards the Visionary skin upon reaching 500 XP.
  • SOS (Suboptimal Station): A submerged submarine station featuring narrow hallways, unlocking the Submarine skin.
  • Monochrome: A desaturated environment derived from the 2016 Roblox game Memories, awarding the Tears Before Bedtime skin.
  • Lone House: A rural property with barnyard structures, creature encounters, and a maze that grants The Sock skin.
  • Abandoned School: A multi-room academic building housing several historical badge locations, rewarding the Ghost Hunter skin.
  • The Alien from Neptune: A snowy outpost with progressive audio changes that unlocks The Alien from Neptune skin.
  • Happy Terror: A retro suburban neighborhood based on Happy Home in Robloxia, granting the Glob skin.
  • Backrooms: A maze of yellow halls based on the liminal space aesthetic, awarding the Lifeform skin.
  • Assembly: An industrial facility based on the Zombierchy Power Plant, rewarding the Jeep Driver skin.
  • Astro: A space-themed orbital outpost featuring platforming segments, unlocking the Mecha skin.
  • Brick Bay Zoo: An overgrown wildlife park containing animal enclosures, awarding the Serpent skin.
  • Lab: A research station with distinct puzzle corridors, unlocking the Test Tube skin.
  • Yorick's Resting Place: An open cemetery based on the 2006 Roblox administrative event, rewarding the York skin.
  • The Undead Coming II: An open urban landscape based on the classic 2008 zombie game, granting the Zombie King skin.
  • System Crypt: A dark underground maze with ambient humming, awarding the Tomb Keeper skin.
  • The Final Hour: A coastal lighthouse arena inspired by Left 4 Dead 2's Last Stand, unlocking the Whale skin.
  • Survive the Killer Bear in Area 51: A military bunker layout referencing the classic survival game, granting the Area 51 creature skin.
  • Underwater Woods: A large submerged forest with high juking potential around trees, unlocking the Horn Head skin.
  • Captain's Cove: A pirate-themed shoreline featuring a large ship and the Red Pirate skin.
  • Sunset Plain: A medieval castle arena derived from Brick Battle maps, rewarding the Jester skin.
  • Cyanotype: An extraterrestrial outpost with distinct puzzle stations, awarding the Sygas skin.
  • Hospital Nightmare: Resurrection: A medical facility overhaul with Bear-only portals, granting the Hospital Spirit skin.
  • Crazy Port: An expanded harbor environment featuring open docks, awarding the Steampunk skin.

Surviving on maps with high puzzle counts also provides an effective method to accumulate quidz for general shop purchases, while dedicated grinders focus on maps selected by the daily spotlight to collect all mastery skins systematically.

What Happened to Event and Scrapped Maps?

Event maps are temporary survival scenarios added during seasonal updates that run on separate gameplay mechanics. As documented on the Roblox BEAR Wiki Arctic Valley page, Arctic Valley operated as a four-minute boss battle against Sam during Christmas 2019 and Christmas 2024. Instead of completing standard wire or cheese objectives, survivors received Snowball Launchers to deplete the boss's health pool before time expired.

Other specialty releases include Santa's Winter Stronghold, which introduced a dedicated Juggernaut mode where players fought to claim and hold the juggernaut role. Production changes also led to complete replacements of older builds, such as early iterations of Hospital Nightmare, which underwent several structural overhauls to adjust lighting levels, dead ends, and navigation flow across major game updates.
